Gayle J. Lee, 74, Harvey, ND passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 5 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 4 followed by a rosary and prayer service at 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Gayle Jean Davis was born on June 5, 1950 in Grafton, ND to the late Percy and Agnes (Bazal) Davis.  She started school in Nash, ND and graduated from Grafton High School in 1968.

She attended the University of North Dakota where she earned her Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 1971.  She later earned her Masters and Specialist in Educational Leadership.  Gayle worked as an elementary teacher and later elementary principal at St. Thomas Public Schools.  She married Robert Lee on June 30, 1973, in Grafton.  In 1992, she accepted a position as elementary principal in Harvey, ND where she retired in 2012.

Gayle was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the Wells Eagles Auxiliary in Harvey.

Throughout her youth, Gayle was an avid horseback rider. She loved her family and pets, and spent her free time singing, playing games, and entertaining people with that laugh.

Gayle is survived by her husband, Robert Lee, Harvey, ND; her daughter Nicki and son-in-law Craig Roseno, Grand Forks, ND; sister Vicki and brother-in-law Curtis Nelson, Jupiter, Florida; sister-in-law, Janelle Davis;  and many nieces and nephews.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents; her son Ross in 2006; sister Sandra and brother-in-law Carl Dierks; and a brother Doug Davis.
