Gail Merrill, 60, of Harvey died Monday, May 7, 2018 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at the New Hope Lutheran Church, Upham on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Friday, May 18, from 4 pm to 6 p.m.

Burial will be in the Bloomfield Lutheran Cemetery, Upham.

Gail was born on November 15, 1957 in Rugby, ND.  She was the daughter of Herbert and Irene (Jackson) Natwick.  Gail was baptized on June 7, 1958 at Bloomfield Lutheran Church, Upham and was also confirmed there.  Gail was raised on the family ranch near Bantry, ND.  Gail went to elementary and high school at Upham Public School and graduated in 1976.

Gail loved horses and won many trophies and ribbons, especially on her horse Chargy.  She also had two palominos, Queenie and Penny. She also loved her dog named Toby.

Gail belonged to the B and U Riders Club and the Ranchers and Rancherettes 4-H Club in Denbigh, ND.  Gail showed cattle, sheep and rabbits during her days in 4-H.   She married Charles Merrill on November 28, 1987.  The lived at Gail's home until they moved to Harvey.  Gail entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey on February 8, 2008.  Charles died on March 3, 2018.

Gail is survived by her nephew, Richard (Deb) Natwick; sister-in-law, Charlotte Natwick; great-nephew, Levi Natwick, great-niece, Lacey Natwick; 2 step-great-nieces, Sasha Bluhm and Amber (Josh) Nix; 2 great-great-nieces, Alayna and Aelynn Valdez; 2 step-great-great-nephews, Daman and Devin Atkinson; one step-great-great-niece, Paisley Nix; very special friend, Brenda Kuhnhenn; former sister-in-law, Mary Natwick.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles, son, Gail; brother, Gary Natwick.
