Gail met her future husband Terry Hager while working at the creamery in Harvey. They were together for 16 years.  Miranda Marie Hager, their only child, was born on August 11, 1988. Gail always told Miranda that she was her birthday present. Gail attended Valley City State College and then Trinity School of Nursing and graduated with a nursing degree.  She was a Registered Nurse and worked in many different areas including, pediatric oncology, kidney dialysis, at the Rugby Hospital and was even the house nursing supervisor.

Gail Loved her two grandchildren Scarlett and LeRoy Atkinson. She was there to watch both of them come into this world. She watched Scarlett when she was little and took her to preschool while dad and mom worked. Scarlett loved her Grandma Gail and they were very close. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was kind, sensitive, gentle, caring, and loved animals. She would crash her car to not hit a squirrel on the road. She loved her beloved pets Toby the cat, Phoebe the cat, Kirby and Kikamo the dogs, and now Riley her cocker spaniel. She always was a listening ear and would give the little she had off her back to someone else in need. She loved gardening, baking Grandma Grace's cut out Christmas cookies at Christmas.

Gail loved her grandkids; I Love Lucy with Lucille Ball and Desi; and Diet Coke. She always brought goodies or treats everywhere she went! Gail later retired from nursing after she became ill from other comorbidities. She died with a great love for God, and the Bible Fellowship Church she attended in Minot, ND with her dear friends Pastor Duane Deckert and his wife Linda.  Gail resided in Minot and Bismarck in her later life. Happy Trails to you until we meet again!

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Miranda and Spencer Atkinson of Bismarck; two grandchildren; Scarlett and LeRoy; mother, Grace Weigel of Ames, Iowa; brother, Noel Light Jr. of Hawaii; sister-in-law, Nancy Light of Cutbank, MT; nieces, Nicole, Naomi and Nianna.
