Frieda Wanner, 95, McClusky died Thursday, April 08, 2010 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 12 at the United Methodist Church, McClusky. Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey and Sunday from 1p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.
Frieda was born on October 3, 1914 in the Lincoln Valley area south of Anamoose, ND. She was the daughter of John and Lucy (Delk) Seibel. She grew up there and attended country school. She worked for several area farm families doing housework for several years. Frieda married Robert "Bob" Wanner on October 19, 1936 in McClusky. They spent the next 45 years farming and raising registered Herefords. In 1980 they retired from the ranch and moved to McClusky. Robert died on February 1, 2004. Frieda moved to the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey on November 14, 2005. Frieda was a member of the United Methodist Church in McClusky. Her hobbies included quilting, playing piano and singing with her husband at area churches and the Sheridan Memorial Home in McClusky. Frieda is survived by a daughter, Ethel Samuelson of Mandan; son and daughter-in-law, Percy and Ollie Wanner of Augusta, Georgia; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Pfaff of Bismarck, Mary Hornbacher of Bowdon and Viola Castellano of Billings, MT. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Delmore; sisters, Martha Froehlich, Augusta Wahl and Tillie Yarboro; brothers, Henry Seibel, Alfred Seibel, Edwin Seibel, Ernest Seibel, Elmer Seibel, Joe Seibel and John Seibel, Jr.
