Freda Louise Kapfer, 103, of Great Falls, Montana formerly of Harvey and Anamoose, ND died Saturday, April 27, 2013 Great Falls Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND . Burial will be in St. Martin's Lutheran Cemetery, Anamoose, ND later in the spring. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey
Freda was born on May 14, 1909 on the family farm south of Drake, ND. She was the daughter of August and Minnie (Herter) Kaibel. She attended the Rosenfeld rural school through the eighth grade. Freda married Walter Kapfer on March 7, 1928 in McClusky. They lived and farmed in the Anamoose area. Walter died on December 17, 1974. Freda continued to live in Anamoose. Freda moved to Harvey in November 1976 and resided there until 2006 when she moved to Minot. She later moved to Great Falls, MT and lived at the Benafis Nursing Home until her death.
Freda was a former member of the First Lutheran Church in Harvey. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing and gardening.
Freda is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Robert) Keyes of Great Falls, Montana and Jean Ammon of Cambridge, Minnesota; Six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Erdmann of McClusky, ND.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son at birth; one grandchild, Melanie Paterson; brothers, Norman, Fred and August Kaibel; sisters, Cora Kaibel, Minnie Kapfer and Caroline Wagner; son-in-law, Ernest Ammon.
