Frank L. Selensky, 74, Harvey, died Friday, June 19, 2010 at St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey. Funeral mass will be Monday June 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Selz. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Prayer services will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Frank was born June 14, 1936 in Harvey to John and Mary Eva (Keller) Selensky. He grew up on the family farm north of Selz and attended school in Selz. He entered the National Guard in October 1958. He received his basic and advanced training at Fort Leonardwood, MO. He returned home in April 1959. He married Rose Kremer on September 19, 1960 in Balta, ND. They lived and farmed north of Selz. He was honorably discharged from the North Dakota National Guard in September 1964. He retired in 1996 and they moved to Harvey. Frank was a current member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey and a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Selz. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Wells Eagles Aerie and the American Legion. Frank enjoyed hunting, playing cards and bowling.
Frank is survived by his wife, Rose; four daughters, Brenda (Albert) Vetter, Harvey, Laurie (Wayne) Schmitz, Minot, Sheila (Mark) Vandal, Langdon, Tammy (Mike) Schmitz, Bowdon; two sons, Ron (Madge) and Ken (Paula) all of Harvey; 16 grandchildren; four sisters, Eva Vetter of Minot; Barbara Kline of Everett, WA, Helen Hoffert of Rugby, Angeline Goldenbeck of St. Cloud, MN; brother, Tony of Anaconda, MT. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Rose Hoffert, Marie Laturnus and Katie Selensky; two brothers, Rochus and Ray Selensky.
