Foster Felchle, 86 of Bismarck and Denhoff, ND died Wednesday, November 9, 2016, surrounded by his family and under the care of hospice at his home in Bismarck after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at McCabe Methodist Church of Bismarck on Monday, November 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, November 13, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Public prayer service will be at 3:30 p.m. at the church on Sunday. Burial will be held in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck.
Foster was born on August 14, 1930, in Carrington, North Dakota. He was the son of Fred H. and Hilda (Korus) Felchle. Foster grew up and attended school in Denhoff, ND. As a young man, Foster worked on the family farm. Foster married Darlene Schaeffer on June 24, 1951, in McClusky, ND. Foster entered the army on October 23, 1951, and was honorably discharged on May 15, 1952. Foster returned to the family farm near Denhoff where he and Darlene took an active part in the farming operation. During the winter months, they lived in Bismarck. Farming and taking care of his animals was his life. Foster dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their activities. Foster had a great sense of humor and was known for his big blue eyes.
Foster will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His wife of 65 years, Darlene of Bismarck; daughters, Gail (Lance) Wachter of Bismarck, Cindi (Arlen) Burgad of Linton, Carmen (Monte) Andrews of Bismarck; 4 grandchildren, Chad (Stacy) Wachter, Courtney Burgad, Nicole (Colby) Nordstrom, Sarah Andrews; three great-grandchildren, Derek, Preston, and Kayley Wachter; 3 sisters, Charlene (Gerald) Koble, Patty (Clifton) Dockter, Marilyn (Jerry) Haas; 1 brother Fred (Nancy) Felchle.
Foster was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Travis Burgad; two brothers.
