Floyd Schaeffer, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather age 89 of Beulah, ND died Monday December 1, 2021 at the Sakakawea Medical Center surrounded by his family in Hazen, ND.  Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 7 at the Hertz Funeral Home in McClusky and then proceed to the McClusky City Cemetery for a graveside service which begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Floyd was born on August 20, 1932 in Sheridan County to Emanuel and Mary Schaeffer.  He grew up in the McClusky area and served in the Air Force before being honorably discharged on December 7, 1955.  Floyd married Lucille Dalos on June 17, 1956 in Mercer.  They had three children together.  They owned and operated Schaeffer Ford in Underwood for many years.  They loved spending their summers at the lake and winters in Texas. Lucille passed away on May 29, 2021.

Floyd is survived by his son, Michael (Bonnie) Schaeffer of Carthage, MO; daughters, Sherri (Randy) Ogden of Bismarck; Kim (Doran) Brandt of Hazen; sister, Eloise (Lynn) Vietz of Bismarck; 7 grandchildren, Christian (Brianna) Schaeffer, Henry Schaeffer, Parker Ogden, Sasha Fulghum, Tasia (Devin) Richter, Brier (Robbie Westby) Brandt, Brody (Melissa) Brandt; 10 great-grandchildren.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Violet and her husband Lawrence Reiswig; grandson, Brynn Ogden and an infant brother.
