Eva Keller, 83, Harvey, ND died Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey. Funeral services will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey on Tuesday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Monday, September 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary Prayer service at 7 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m.
Eva was born on November 16, 1935 at Granville, ND to Wendelin and Florentine (Dexheimer) Burgard. She grew up near Selz and attended rural school there. Eva married Wilfred Keller on November 7, 1955 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Selz. They lived in Fargo and Harvey for several years, moving to the farm north of Harvey in 1965. She was employed by Nesbit's Jewelers and also worked at the Veterans Club both in Harvey. In 2010, she suffered a stroke. Wilfred lovingly cared for her at home as long as he could and in 2014 Eva entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home.
Eva was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church and belonged to the Altar Society where she held numerous offices including president. She was a life member of both the Veterans Of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and VFW National Home. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Wells Eagles Aerie Auxiliary.
Eva is survived by her husband, Wilfred of Harvey; son and daughter-in-law, Myron and Lori Keller of Barney, ND; two grandchildren, Kristen Keller of Costa Mesa, CA and Thomas Keller of San Francisco, CA; brothers, Leo and Richard Burgard both of Minot; sister, Rosella Pfeiffer of Minot; and brother-in-law, Dr. Thomas V. Keller of Los Banos, CA. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Steve and Joe; sisters, Mary Peters, Alice Schaan, Betty Kraft, Helen Burgard and Irene Burgard.
