Obituary

Eva Grosz, 104, Harvey formerly of rural Anamoose died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday January 2, 2012 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Anamoose, ND. Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Sunday January 1, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Eva was born on January 17, 1907 on the family farm south of Drake, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Adam and Katherine (Jans) Uhlich. Eva grew up and attended rural school south of Drake.

She married Gottlieb Grosz on November 18, 1926 at McClusky. They lived and farmed southwest of Drake for a short time. In 1929 they moved to a farm south of Drake near Skogmo. In 1943 they purchased a farm three miles west of Anamoose.

Gottlieb died on January 12, 1975. She continued to live on the farm with her son Raymond until moving to the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Eva was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church of Anamoose.

Eva is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Blumhagen of Harvey, ND, two sons, Clifford Grosz of Harvey and Raymond Grosz of Anamoose; two grandchildren; Curtis (Julie) Grosz of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Brenda (Mike) Heitkamp of Bismarck; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Everson of Bismarck, Helen Rieniets of Drake; sister-in-law, Maxine Uhlich of Mohall.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gottlieb; son-in-law, Rudy Blumhagen; one sister in infancy and sister, Marie Michelson; brothers, Arthur Uhlich, John Uhlich, Albert Uhlich, Daniel Uhlich, Jacob Uhlich, and David Uhlich.
