Esther Goldade, 81 of Harvey, ND passed away Wednesday November 4, 2020 at a Fargo Hospital. Private funeral services will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a public graveside service at 11:30 a.m. in the St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery. CDC and State of North Dakota Covid-19 recommendations are being encouraged.
Esther was born on March 1, 1939 in Orrin, ND. She was the daughter of Felix and Katherine (Schmaltz) Bachmeier. Esther grew up and attended school near Orrin. As a young woman she cleaned houses for area families. Esther married Joe Goldade on July 1, 1959 in Orrin. They lived on the Goldade farm near Selz. Esther worked in several Harvey cafés. She then worked at the St. Aloisius Medical Center in the laundry department there for 29 and half years. During her retirement she cleaned at Service Drug, St. Cecilia Catholic Church Rectory, and Albrecht Apartments. Esther enjoyed canning, playing bingo, going to the casinos, playing cards, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Esther loved spending time with people. Esther volunteered at the St. Aloisius Nursing home where she fixed hair.
Esther is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Jerry Frueh of Scottsbluff, NE; son, Larry of Selz; two grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Frueh; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janis Phillips, Gertrude Aabrekke, Adeline Bonn, Caroline Heilman, Helen Simons; brothers, Gabe Bachmeier and Louie Bachmeier. Esther was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Dickey, Eva Kremer, Julie Kremer, Amelia Brown, Magealena Bachmeier, Dorothy Weigel; brothers, Jack and Casper Bachmeier.
