Emanuel Hager, 85, Harvey died Monday, July 3, 2017 at the St. Aloisius Hospital, Harvey.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 7 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday July 6 with a 7 p.m. rosary/prayer service at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Anamoose, ND.

Arrangements are with Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Emanuel Hager was born June 22, 1932 at Harvey to Joseph and Lena (Koble) Hager. He was raised on a farm near Martin, ND and later on a farm northwest of Harvey where they farmed and ranched. He completed the 8 ^th grade at the New German # 4 Country School.

Emanuel married Bergetta Neiss on June 28, 1955 at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Balta, ND. They moved to a farm northeast of Anamoose where they farmed, ranched and raised their children Allan and Paulette. In 1986 they moved to Anamoose. Emanuel retired from farming in 2001 and continued to help out often. In 2005 they moved to Harvey.

Emanuel's favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting and playing pinochle. Harvest was his favorite time of the year.

Emanuel was a 50 year member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Anamoose and a recent member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey. He was also a member of the Wells Eagles Aerie # 3080 in Harvey and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 5856. He was also a member of the Anamoose Volunteer Fire Department.

Emanuel is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bergetta of Harvey; son Allan (Cheryl Goldade) of Anamoose; daughter, Paulette (Bob) Heringer of Bismarck; his pride and joy six grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Ryan (Dr. Sara) Klein of Velva, Dr. Amanda Heringer of Bismarck, Christie (Chris) Raney of Bismarck; Jessica Heringer (Jess Wifall) of Shefield, IL, Jory (Carrie) Hager of Anamoose and Natalie Hager (Jayden Woodworth) of Bismarck; 8 great- grandchildren, Crew and Dane Klein, AJ and Jacie Hager, Evie Woodworth, Jaxon Raney, Taylor Heringer, Dylan Brown and baby Klein expected in December; Cheryl's daughters, Danielle (Jordan) Tripp and Dana (Taylor) Fitzgerald; sister, Agnes Thomas of Devils Lake and brother, Linus (Gladys) Hager of Harvey; nieces and nephews. Emanuel was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Christ. God bless the memory of Emanuel Hager.
