Emaline M. Marchand, 89, Harvey, ND passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 31, 2023 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a prayer service following at 5 p.m on Sunday, July 30 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Emaline was born on August 31, 1933 on the family farm north of Goodrich, ND to Paul and Emma (Kramer) Weber. She attended country school there before the family moved to Harvey. Emaline attended the St. Cecilia Catholic School and the Harvey High School. She married Dr. Thomas Louis Marchand on November 13, 1952 in Moorhead, MN. They lived in Harvey and raised their seven children there. During her many years living in Harvey, Emaline was employed at Kirton's Café, Harvey Café, Harvey Bakery, St. Aloisius Nursing Home and managed Roxann's Clothing and Jewelry Store. She enjoyed fishing and being a seamstress. She also loved the family hobby farm near Manfred where she gardened and raised animals. Her husband Tom passed away on March 31, 2000.
Emaline was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church where she taught CCD and was active in the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Harvey VFW Auxiliary.
Emaline is survived by her sons, Tom (Myrna) of Harvey, Mark (Karen) of Ogden, Utah; daughters, Roxann Nickel of Harvey, Lisa (Douglas) Wentz of Esmond, Roberta Marchand of Rugby, Annette Marchand (Jason Hamre) of Moorhead; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Louis (Eunice) Weber of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Emaline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Monte; brothers, James and Aloys; sisters, Loretta Smestad and Betty Weldele.
