Elmer Freemyer 93 of Harvey formerly of Fort Laramie, Wyoming died Sunday December 15, 2013 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey. Graveside services will be held at the Fort Laramie, Wyoming Cemetery on Saturday December 28, 2013. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Fort Laramie Wyoming. Arrangement with Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey.
Elmer was born on March 28, 1920 in Conway, Iowa. He was the son of Joshua and Zola (Campbell) Freemyer. Elmer grew up and attended school in Conway. He married Kathryn Hunter on July 14, 1941. They made their home near Conway where they farmed until moving to Loveland, CO in 1960. Elmer drove a delivery truck for both Loveland Packing and Roth Boneless Beef until his retirement in 1985. Elmer and Kathryn moved to Fort Laramie where he worked for the maintenance department until the age of 83. Due to health reasons they moved to Harvey to live with their daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Elven Marshall.
Elmer enjoyed traveling, camping, bowling, reading and spending time with his family. He was a cherished dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. Elmer is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Larry (Sandy) of Briggsdale, CO, Marvin (Julie) of Reno, NV; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha (Elven) Marshall of Harvey; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathryn, brothers, Truman and Leo; sisters, Elaine and Louise Besco; infant daughter, Marilyn; granddaughter, Evonne Freemyer.
