Eleanor Wiebe, 86, of Harvey formerly of Hurdsfield, ND died Monday, August 17, 2020 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.  No services are being planned and burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hurdsfield, ND.

Eleanor Vernell Wiebe was born on October 23, 1933 on the family farm northeast of Hurdsfield, ND. She was the daughter of Jacob and Esther (Diede) Wiebe.  Eleanor attended a country school and then graduated from the Hurdsfield High School in 1951. She received her degree in education from Valley City State College.  She moved to Bloomington, MN where she taught the fourth and fifth grades. Eleanor was a teacher there for 35 years, retiring in 1990.  She moved back to Hurdsfield to care for her mother, then her father and eventually her brothers.  She continued to live on the farm until moving to Fessenden in 2012.  She had been a resident at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home. She enjoyed reading and tending to her flower gardens.

Eleanor is survived by several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gary, Harry and Albert; two sisters, Alice Weinmann and Esther Wiebe.

Memorials are preferred to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hurdsfield, ND.
