Elaine Neff, 92, of McClusky, ND entered into her heavenly home on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the CHI Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake, ND.  Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 10 at St. John's Lutheran Church in McClusky with burial in the McClusky City Cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church and the family requests those attending to follow CDC recommendations of social distancing, wearing a mask and not attending if not feeling well.

Elaine was born on June 18, 1929 south of McClusky to Adolph and Lydia (Schaeffer) Helm.  She grew up on the family farm and attended rural school.  Elaine married Marvin Neff on September 3, 1947 in McClusky.  They lived in McClusky all their married life. Elaine worked at the R and H Motel in McClusky and would manage it while the owners were away.  She was also an assistant cook at the McClusky Elementary School.  Marvin died on November 23, 2008.  She moved into the Sheridan Memorial Home in McClusky in July 2014.  Elaine was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was baptized and confirmed there. She was a member of the McClusky American Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting, scrapbooking, fishing, and was a fabulous cook.

Elaine is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and Cheryl Neff, Marlyn and Paulette Neff all of Mandan; granddaughter, Melodie Neff of Robbinsdale, MN.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Judy Neff; brothers, Ervin Helm, Ardell Helm and Baldwin Helm; sisters, Alvina Krueger, Adeline Hornbacher, Olivia Nigrin, Wilma Matheis, Laverna Knapp and Pat Schmitcke.
