Edna Reile, 94, Bismarck formerly of McClusky died Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Bismarck Baptist Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 12 at the Baptist Home in Bismarck. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky and one hour prior to the service at the Baptist Home. Burial will be in McClusky City Cemetery.

Edna was born on October 3, 1915 on a farm northwest of McClusky. She was the daughter of Fredrick Jr. and Katherine (Neff) Lauer. She grew up and attended rural school near McClusky. She married Jacob Reile Jr. on September 30, 1935 in McClusky. From this marriage came five children with one being stillborn. They farmed south of town before moving into McClusky in 1950. She worked at the Red Owl Store for John Ebel and Donnie Baron for 18 years. She then worked for the McClusky school as a cook's assistant for one year. They moved to Bismarck in August 1969. She worked at Capital Laundry and Deluxe Cleaners for ten years retiring in 1979. Jacob passed away on October 17, 1999. Edna continued to spend the rest of her retirement in the Bismarck community. Edna loved to garden and plant flowers. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She spent many weekends camping and fishing. She also enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Edna will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandson, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends she has left behind. She will have a new home, free from pain, with the heavenly Father above.

Edna is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary Reile of Bismarck, Harley and Ruth Reile of Sheridan, WY; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Leota and Vern Borkowski of Coon Rapids, MN, Peggy and Bill Backman of Mandan; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brothers, Melvin (Doris), Bismarck, LeRoy(Alice), McClusky, Raymond (Marcella), Bismarck, Lloyd (Jan) McClusky; sisters, Viola Murray, Minot, Shirley (Bill) Wilson, Coleharbor and many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Theodore, Rudolph and Albert; sisters, Adeline Lauer, Violet Lauer, Ruby Wahl, Freda Broeckel, and Darlene Roth; daughter-in-law Donna Reile in 2002.
