Edith Patzer 81 of Harvey formerly of Hurdsfield died Thursday July 29 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hurdsfield Community Center, Hurdsfield, ND. Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Sunday August 1 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery of Hurdsfield.
Edith was born on October 5, 1928 at Harvey, ND. She was the daughter of Robert and Dora (Aichle) Baumbach. As a young child she grew up and attended school in Hurdsfield. She married Otto Patzer on November 1, 1946 in Fessenden, ND. They lived and farmed southeast of Hurdsfield. They later moved into Hurdsfield where she worked as a cook for the Hurdsfield Public School for 33 years. Edith also babysat for many families in the Hurdsfield community. Edith was a member of the VFW auxiliary of Hurdsfield. Edith was a very good german cook and she loved to play bingo. Edith is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Susann Patzer of Harvey, Brian and Ronda Patzer of Harvey; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Art Baumbach of Hurdsfield; daughter-in-law, Vanessa Patzer of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otto, son, Keith Patzer; brothers, Lawrence Baumbach, Clarence Baumbach; sisters, Olinda Weigelt, Ruth Kraft, infant sister, Tina Baumbach.
