Earl T. Kucera, 76 of Gun Barrel City, TX formerly of Harvey, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at a Tyler, Texas Hospital.

Committal service will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015.

Visitation will be Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Earl Thomas Kucera was born on November 13, 1938 at Maddock, ND to Bill and Emma (Seilig) Kucera. The family moved to Fessenden and then to Harvey where he attended school. Earl entered the Navy in November 1955 and was honorably discharged in July 1956. He moved to Texas and was an equipment operator for the City of Dallas Street Department for many years. He spent many years with his companion Hyta Sims and they had been living in Gun Barrel City, TX.

Earl is survived by his companion, Hyta Sims, Gun Barrel City, TX; son, Michael Kucera of Petowsky, Michigan; daughter, Brenda Grubb of Fort Worth, Texas; adopted son, Larry Kucera of Williston; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon Kucera of Bismarck; Louis Kucera of Twin Falls, Idaho, Roger Kucera of Lakewood, Colorado; sister, Helen Weinmann of Harvey.
