DeWayne "Fritz" Hirschkorn 70, McClusky died Wednesday August 17, 2011 at Medcenter One in Bismarck surrounded by his family.

Memorial services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, McClusky. Interment will be at a later date in the Bowdon City Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

DeWayne Roger "Fritz" Hirschkorn was born October 19, 1940 in Harvey, ND to Dick and Emma (Oster) Hirschkorn. He graduated from the Fessenden High School in 1959 and also attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton for two years. Fritz married Diana Schander on April 6, 1966 in Fessenden. They lived in Garrison and moved to McClusky in 1996. He worked for the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Fritz was active in many organizations in Garrison and McClusky. He took great pride in his 25 years of volunteering as a Hunters Education Instructor.

Fritz is survived by his wife, Diana; two sons, Darin (Larinda) of LaMoure, Doran (Tatum) of Bismarck; seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Talitha, Big Caleb, Levi, Little Caleb, and twins, Ty and Kendra; brothers, Richard (Betty) of Fessenden, Curt (Pam) of Grand Island, Nebraska. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
