Dorothy Strauss, 70, of Harvey died Friday, December 27, 2024, at her home.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 1 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Dorothy was born on March 22, 1954 in Harvey, ND to Adolph and Mary (Schuelke) Strauss.  She grew up on the family farm near Harvey. Dorothy attended St. Cecilia Catholic School and graduated from the Harvey High School in 1972.  She received a business diploma from Akers Business College in Grand Forks and returned to Harvey.  Dorothy was the administrative assistant for Clifford Grosz, Attorney at Law office in Harvey for many years.  Dorothy worked parttime at the Wells Eagles Aerie in Harvey where she ran the coat check for years and also as the door person for club events.  She enjoyed playing softball and more recently bowling.

Dorothy was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and diligently updated the church sign with quotes and service information.  She also watered the plants around the cemetery altar. She was a member of the Wells Eagles Auxiliary and volunteered at the Harvey movie theatre.

Dorothy is survived by her brothers Ron Strauss and his wife Yung-Ping Lee of Ellicott City, Maryland, Steve (Cheryl) Strauss of Loveland, CO; 2 nieces, Lesley Strauss and Violet Lee and her husband Ryan Fong; nephews, Jacob Strauss and Andrew Strauss; three great nephews, Grayson Strauss, Benny Fong and Matty Lee; great niece Skylar Strauss.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.
