Dorothy Lillemon's Obituary
Dorothy Lillemon, 78, Harvey, ND died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey. Funeral services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church of Harvey which meets at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Harvey on Monday January 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Sunday January 20, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be at the Bethania Lutheran Cemetery, Wellsburg, ND.
Dorothy was born on April 18, 1934 at Warwick, ND to Carl and Clara (Carlson) Swenson. She grew up there and graduated from the Warwick High School in 1952. She attended Mayville Teachers College and taught elementary school at Chaseley, Wellsburg, Bisbee and Harvey. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education after having completed courses taken during the summer months and by correspondence. Dorothy also worked part time as a nurses aid at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey for fifteen years.
Dorothy and James Lillemon were united in marriage on December 26, 1969 at the Concordia Lutheran Church, Hamburg. They lived and farmed near Wellsburg and moved to Harvey in 2011.
Dorothy was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Harvey. Dorothy cherished the times spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies were quilting and making blankets for the church. She especially enjoyed gardening and other outdoor activities during the summer months.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, James; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Dave Schwan of Homosassa, FL, Diane and David Knudsen of Minot, ND; three grandchildren, James Knudsen, Tawnya (Stephen) Demianczyk and Michael (Maggie) Schwan; five great-grandchildren, Cullan Demianczyk, Brenna Demianczyk, Joseph Demianczyk, Gianna Demianczyk, and Madeline Schwan; brother, Harold Swenson of Dickinson; sister, Olga Kaeding of Roseau, MN; 41 nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles and John Swenson; five sisters, Alice Crommett, Gladys Erickson, Evelyn Forde, Esther Trivelion and Hilma Sahl.
