Doris Elaine Bentz, 84, of McClusky died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the CHI Community Hospital in Turtle Lake.

Funeral services will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church of McClusky on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 2 p.m.

Visitation will be at the Hertz Funeral Home of McClusky on Wednesday, May 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery.

Doris was born on July 20, 1937 near McClusky, ND. She was the daughter of Oscar and Mabel (Hanvold) Thompson.  She attended country school.  Doris married Clifford Bentz on December 29, 1956 in McClusky.  They lived, ranched, and farmed north of McClusky.  Being a homemaker and farmer's wife, there were many chores for her to do around the farm, many times alongside her husband Clifford.  Doris was an Avon Sales Representive for several years.  Her hobbies included playing cards, Bingo, fishing, and square dancing.

Doris was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served on the council, Sunday School Teacher and worked with and volunteered for the church's women's groups.

Doris is survived by her husband, Clifford; daughter, Sherry (James) Knauf of Kronenwetter, Wisconsin; son, Richard (Cheryl) Bentz of McClusky; five grandchildren, Michelle Krabbenhoft, Michael Knauf, Lisa Kitzmann, Amanda Heth, Kayla Kunkel; 10 great-grandchildren, Aurelia Knauf, Gabrick Knauf, Braxton Knauf, Gracelyn Knauf, Conrad Krabbenhoft, Sadie Krabbenhoft, Katelynn Kitzmann, Brianna Kitzmann, Ty Kunkel and Amber Kunkel; sister, Shirley (Calvin) Hornbacher, Bismarck; brother, Douglas (Linda) Thompson of Highland, Illinois.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Harley; sisters, Annie Calheim, Videll Mantz, Grace Mayer, Phyllis Wahl.
