Donald Seibel, 83, Harvey, ND died Friday, October 7, 2016 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, ND.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at First Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND.

Interment will be in St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery, rural Harvey.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Donald Lee Seibel was born September 2, 1933, in Harvey, ND, a son of Ben E. and Ella (Faul) Seibel. He attended rural school and Harvey High School where he played football and summer baseball and softball. Don joined the US Army in July 1954 and served in Korea, receiving his Honorable Discharge in May 1956. On June 18, 1961, he married Vloria (Marcie) Erickson at Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church in Harvey. Don worked for Otter Tail Power Company until December 1967, when they moved to Lodi, CA. There he worked for the City of Lodi Power Company for 19 years, retiring in 1986. In 2003, they moved back to their hometown of Harvey, where they have since lived.

Don was an avid bowler, achieving 8 – 300 games, 4 – 800 series, and numerous 700 series. He enjoyed watching all sports on television, especially his 49ers.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marcie; a son, Mark and Marianne Seibel of Goodyear, AZ; daughter, Jodi and Robert Smith of Fremont, CA; 7 grandchildren, Nicolas, Robert, Jr., Tyler, Trey, Beth, Ashley and Michael; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Steinhorst of Denton, TX; brothers, Jerry of Devils Lake, ND and Marlo and Sharon of Wahpeton, ND; numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by a son, David; his parents; and a brother, Ben, Jr.
