Donald Hausauer

Donald Hausauer, 91, of McClusky died Monday, September 14, 2026 at the Community Memorial Hospital of Turtle Lake.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of McClusky on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery.

Donald was born on January 11, 1935 north of McClusky. He was the son of Emil and Margaret (Waltz) Hausauer. Donald grew up and attended rural school west of McClusky and graduated from McClusky High School in 1953. He then started farming near McClusky. Donald married Vernia Rust on August 10, 1962, in Mercer. Donald was a fieldman for the Sheridan County ASC office in McClusky for 23 years. Donald retired from farming in 2002. Vernia died on October 21, 2024.

Donald was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mercer and served as Trustee for over 35 years. Donald also served as the McClusky Township Supervisor for 56 years, and on the McClusky Rural Fire Department for 25 years.

Donald is survived by his son, Jason (Wendy) Hausauer of McClusky; two grandchildren, Tanner (Brianne) Hausauer of Bismarck, Jaxston (Karleigh) Hausauer of McClusky. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vernia, brothers, Richard, Raymond, Marvin, Herbert, and 2 infant brothers, Roland and Wayne, two sisters, Jeannette and Carol. Arrangements are with Hertz Funeral Home of McClusky, North Dakota.
