Obituary

Dollris Hanson, 96, of Harvey, ND formerly of Tioga, ND passed away on October 5, 2017 in St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey, ND.

Funeral services will be held at the Zion Free Lutheran Church in Tioga on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the Norman Lutheran Cemetery, Tioga.

Dollris Ferguson was born on May 20, 1921 in Williams County, near Tioga. She was the daughter of James J. and Lorena (McGuckin) Ferguson. She attended school in Tioga where she graduated from Tioga High School. After graduation she worked for the Post Office in Tioga.

Dollris was united in marriage to Clifford Hanson on October 21, 1944 in Tioga. They moved to a farm north of Tioga until 1952. They moved to Tioga and operated Hanson's Dry Cleaners for many years.   She later worked in the office of the Tioga Community Hospital. In 1967 they opened Cliff's Club in Battleview, where they eventually moved. In 1975 they retired and moved back to the farm. For 19 years, Dollris and Cliff spent their winters in Arizona where they enjoyed spending time with friends and family. After Cliff suffered a stroke and became a resident of the Tioga Nursing Home, she moved into Tioga until his death in 1999, she then moved to Minot. In 2014, Dollris became a resident of St Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.

Dollris was a member of the Norman Lutheran Church. She was also a former member of the Norman Ladies Aid, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Rebekah Lodge, Red Hat Society and the Son's of Norway.

Dollris is survived by her sons, Bruce (Patty) of Casper, WY, Brad of Aurora, CO, son-in-Law, David Armstrong, Mohall, ND; 5 grandchildren, Darren Armstrong, Bryan Armstrong, Leah Hedberg, Jake Hanson, Nicolette Hanson; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Ella (Babe) Strahan of Golden Valley, MN and several nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Barbara Jean Armstrong; sisters, Noma Ferguson and Roma (Roe) Olson.
