DeVella Vik, 94 of Harvey, ND died Tuesday, October 27 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey, ND
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 29 at the First Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
DeVella was born on August 7, 1921 near Manfred, ND. She was the daughter of Emil and Lydia (Mehrer) Pepple. She grew up there and attended the Manfred Public School.
DeVella married Otto Dockter on December 24, 1941 at Fessenden, ND. They lived in Harvey. Otto died on May 6, 1969.
DeVella married Carl Vik on April 23, 1971 at the Concordia Lutheran Church near Fessenden, ND. They resided in Harvey and he died on December 25, 2004.
DeVella continued to live in Harvey and entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home last spring.
DeVella was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Harvey and belonged to the WELCA. She was a charter member and Past President and officer in the Wells Eagles Aerie in Harvey. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and was a member and officer of the Harvey Senior Citizens.
DeVella is survived by a son, Terry (Joanne) Dockter of Stacy, MN; three daughters, Sandy (Red) Goudge, North Branch, MN, Bonnie (Tom) Kiewel of West Fargo, ND Cynthia (Mark) Jones of Bellevue, NE; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Irene Schlenker of Durant, OK.
DeVella was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Otto and Carl; daughter Cheryl Mindt in 1999; sister, Evelyn Schlenker.
