Dennis Grad, 88, of Minot, ND, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church, and the Rosary will be begin at 9:30 a.m.
Interment services will be Monday, December 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
Dennis was born on August 23, 1937 in Rugby, ND to Edward and Elizabeth Grad. The family lived in McHenry County and Dennis attended school in Drake. He enlisted in the Army in October 1956, was stationed in Korea, and was honorably discharged in July 1958.
In 1959 Dennis married the love of his life, Mary Ann Roerick and they celebrated their 66 years of marriage on November 9th.. They were blessed with five children, Deb, Stan, Donna, Pam, and Mary.
Dennis and Mary made their home in Devils Lake, Velva, and Minot. He was employed by Montana Dakota Utilities before starting working in utilities maintenance as a civil service employee at the Minot Air Force Base. He retired at the age of 59.
Dennis's passion was farming. He farmed the family farm and then worked as a hired hand until he was 85. They traveled south in the winter months, making their home in Mesa, AZ for over 20 years. Dennis was a good man and will be terribly missed by his family and the many friends he came to know.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Deb (Kevin) Hoverson of Minot, Pamela (Ken) Metz, Chatham, IL, Donna Schmidt of Des Lacs, Mary (Todd) Walker of Mandan, ND; son Stan Grad of Bismarck; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marcella Dolbec, and daughter-in-law Ann Grad.
