Denise Frye, 74, Selz, ND died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey, ND. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Harvey Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Selz, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Denise Odile Frye was born on August 27, 1936 at Mulhouse-Bourtzwiller, France. She was the daughter of Arthur and Caroline (Buchel) Schonard. She grew up and attended school there. During the 1950's Denise was a sales clerk at an air force base in Orlans, France. She also served as a personal attendant (companion) for a wife of an Admiral in the United States Navy. She later emigrated to the United States. Denise moved to Harvey and owned and operated the Pioneer Bar. She later owned and operated the Selz Bar and also lived in Selz. Denise married Wendelin Frye on August 24, 1989. Denise became an over the road truck driver with her husband, Wendelin and they drove for Ted Clark in Carrington, TBI-Fargo and Sunflower Carrier of York, Nebraska over a period of ten years. Wendelin passed away on September 8, 1999. She continued to live in Selz until April 2010.

Denise is survived by one sister, Yvonee (Gerard) Weiss in France; five step children, Wendelin Frye, Jr. of Harvey, Benjamin Frye of Blaine, MN, Melissa Frye of Harvey, Michelle (Rickie) Hoaglund, Minot and Lisa (Phillip) Lemer of Drake; 5 step grandchildren; and her close friends, Paul and Audrey Zeien of Selz and their three children, Andrew, Amanda and Joshua.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Denise passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey after suffering from lung cancer since 2002.
