Delores Ahl, 85, Bismarck, ND formerly of McClusky died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 with her loving family at her side at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Calvary United Methodist Church, Bismarck.
Visitation: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky
Visitation: Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial: McClusky City Cemetery.

Delores was born December 9, 1932 north of McClusky.  She was the daughter of Carl and Rose (Lauer) Blumhagen. She grew up in the Skogmo and Pickardville areas and attended the Prophet Township rural school north of Pickardville.  Delores married Floyd Ahl on September 16, 1950 in McClusky.  They lived and farmed north of Pickardville before moving to the John Davis Ranch south of Denhoff.  They moved into McClusky in 1972 and to Bismarck in 2008.  Floyd passed away on August 16, 2011.  Delores moved to the Baptist Health Care Center in 2012.

Delores was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and a former member of the United Methodist Church in McClusky where she was active in the choir, German choir, taught Sunday school and was active in the women's Mission Society.  Delores accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1947.  Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was also known for her specialty German dishes and baked goods.  Rhubarb slushes were especially enjoyed by the grandchildren.

Delores is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Clarence Mertz and Linda and Curtis Mertz all of Bismarck; four grandchildren, Rob (Crystal) Mertz of Bismarck, Raynell (James) Miller of West Fargo, Shayne (Alisha) Mertz of Bismarck, Alisa (Colton) Schulz of Bismarck; nine great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Aaliya and Serena Mertz; Kyler, Ryker and Aria Schulz; Breyer and Paisley Miller; sister, Betty (Charles) Martin of Mesa, AZ and Tappen, ND; sister-in-law, Marlene Blumhagen of Bismarck, ND; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Violet Bohara; brother Raymond and another brother Edwin who died as an infant. Arrangements with Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky, ND.
