Dean Francis Morris, of Hideaway, TX passed away Monday July 18 at UT Health East Texas in Tyler, TX. He was born January 25, 1943, in Bismarck, ND to the late Raymond Morris and Clara (Rise) Morris.

Dean graduated from Regan High School and went on to North Dakota State University. Dean was an avid "Bison" fan.

In October of 1961 he joined the Air Force, leaving as an Airman First Class in October of 1965.

Dean married Cheryl Mayer in 1968 and they were blessed with two children Joseph and Melissa.

In March of 1999 he retired from Kraft Foods as Area Transportation Manager in Norcross, Georgia. Dean enjoyed playing golf and the game of Gin Rummy. He loved playing chess and spending time with his grandson, Cole. Dean had a desire to keep up with everyone he knew, family and friends alike.

Dean passed away at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Keith, Lonnie and Lennie, and sister DiAnn.

Dean is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of Hideaway; son Joseph of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter Melissa Shamburger and husband Jeff, and grandson Cole of Hideaway; sister Elizabeth (Merton) Hansen of Wilton, ND; sister-in-law Peggy Morris of Wing, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wing, ND.
