Obituary

Darlene Kennedy, 68, rural Harvey died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at her home of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 2 at Victory Baptist Church, Harvey, ND.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Darlene was born on March 11, 1946 on the family farm southeast of Bowdon, ND. She was the daughter of Edward and Lydia (Hoffman) Lange. The family moved to Carrington where she attended elementary and high school.

Darlene was married to Jerry Schroeder and they had two children, Brenda and Michelle, before being divorced.

Darlene married Dean Arneson and they had a son, Dean Arneson, Jr., before being divorced.

She had lived in the Carrington area before meeting and marrying Wayne Kennedy on August 15, 1975 in Carrington and they had two sons, Darrell and John. They moved to Selz in 1978 and to a farmstead northwest of Selz in 1994.

Darlene's hobbies included gardening, shopping and horses.

Darlene attended the Victory Baptist Church in Harvey.

Darlene is survived by her husband; three sons, Darrell (Anita) Kennedy of Harvey, John (Kajsa) Kennedy of New Rockford, Dean Arneson, Jr. of Jamestown; two daughters, Brenda (David) Collins of Harvey, Michelle Berg of Jamestown; great niece, May Gillin who was cared for by Darlene and Wayne; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Steve Lange of Fountain Hills, AZ, Dennis Lange of Carrington, ND; four sisters, Donna Sharbono, Carrington, Rose Rocvoy, Devils Lake, Linda Klug of Quad Cities, Iowa, Diane Gillin of Moorhead, MN; nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Lange.
