Daniel Volk, 93, Harvey, ND died Friday, December 10, 2021 at a Harvey hospital. Joint funeral services for Daniel and his son Robert will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday December 17 at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey, ND.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Daniel was born of February 7, 1927 in Selz.  He was the son of Peter and Helen (Schmaltz) Volk.  Daniel grew up and attended school in Selz.  He married Alice Fettig on September 27, 1948 in Selz.  They lived with his parents one year after they were married.  On November 1, 1949 they moved to a farm in Hillsdale Township west of Harvey.  They then purchased a farm  in Wells Township north of Harvey where they lived and farmed until they retired.  They then moved to Harvey.  Alice died on February 15, 2013.  Daniel also did carpentry work.  Daniel was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Wells Eagles Aerie, both of Harvey.  Daniel was a former member of the Harvey Rural Fire Department and served as township supervisor.

Daniel enjoyed fishing, gopher trapping, playing cards, square dancing, word search books, and spending time on the farm during his retirement.

Daniel is survived by his daughter, JoAnn (Corey) Flick, sons, Robert (Marie) Volk and WA Volk; six grandchildren, Levi, Mitchel, Andrew, Tina, Kendra, Shelby; six great-grandchildren, Bella, Raelynn, Fin, Otto, Kohen, Willa, brothers, Leo and Tony Volk; sister, Helen Volk.  Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alice, son, Richard; brother, Leonard; sister, Marie Hager.  Arrangements with Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
