Cyril Solin 77 of Harvey died Thursday March 15, 2012 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey. Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church of Harvey on Monday March 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Sunnyside Cemetery of Harvey.

Cy was born on July 27, 1934 at Heimdal, North Dakota. He was the son of John and Minnie (Berglund) Solin. Cy grew up in Heimdal and attended school there until the tenth grade. He then attended two years of Benson County Agricultural School in Maddock. Cy then worked for the Great Northern Railroad before he entered the United States Army on March 6, 1958. He was honorably discharged on February 19, 1960. Cy married Darlene Olson on December 30, 1960 at Fessenden, North Dakota. He then worked as a telegraph agent for the Great Northern Railroad for 15 years. In 1969 he began working for the United States Postal Service and worked as the city mail carrier for 28 years in Harvey. Cy was awarded the safe drivers award for 16 years of safe driving. Cy was a member of the Wells Eagles Aerie 3080, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and First Lutheran Church all of Harvey. Cy was also a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Cy is survived by his wife, Darlene of Harvey; sisters, Betty Nelson of Hamberg and Marion (Lester) Kramer of Fargo; several nieces and nephews. Cy was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricky Solin; daughter, Becky Solin; half brother, Clarence Olson and brother, Alan Solin.
