Charles Faul Jr, 84, Goodrich, ND died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Benedictine Living Center of Garrison.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28 at the First Baptist Church in Goodrich, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be in the Goodrich City Cemetery.

Charles was born October 24, 1932 near Denhoff, ND to Charles H. and Bertha (Reimche) Faul. He was known as Jr. to many. He was one of five sons and three daughters born to this union. When Charles was in the second grade the family moved to a farm south of Harvey. He then attended the Pony Gulch School. He was the fourth boy in the family to join the military and he served in the Army from 1954 until being honorably discharged in 1956.

Jr. and Shirley Mutschler were married on July 5, 1957 in the United Methodist Church in Harvey. They were the parents of four children, Tom, Darci, Doug and Traci. They lived and farmed east of Goodrich on a farm where they moved the house on in 1960, planted trees and added other buildings. Jr. enjoyed farming and loved the land. During his spare time he played softball and basketball as a young man and bowled with his Goodrich friends. He also attended sports events and school activities in which his children and grandchildren participated. Horses were Jr.'s passion for many years. On weekends, the family along with extra kids and plenty of food would head to a horse show somewhere to compete. His other hobbies included playing pinochle and refinishing antique furniture. He and Shirley also spent time traveling and stayed several winters in Texas. Jr. had resided at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison since December 2015 and lost his courageous battle with dementia on Sunday.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Goodrich; children, Tom Faul (Adura) of LaPorte, CO; Darci Frantz, Doug (JaRae) Faul and Traci (Micah) Fiske all of Bismarck; eight grandchildren, Cody (Dre) Frantz, Casey (Erin) Frantz, Bryce Faul, Brady Faul, TaNette Faul, Stephanie Leavitt, Kailey Fiske, Kaitlin Fiske; nine great-grandchildren; sisters; Verla Woehl of Lodi, CA, Marlene (Val) Goldade of Harvey; brothers; Arlo Faul of Lodi, CA, Wesley (Ruth) Faul of Stewartville, MN.

Charles was preceded in death by parents; brothers; Robert and Mirad and sister Dorothy.
