Charles Arndt, 66, of Grafton formerly of Kief, ND died Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Life Skills Transitions Center in Grafton.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Kief City Cemetery.

Charles was born on February 27, 1952 in Harvey, ND. He was the son of Bennie and Christina (Mock) Arndt. The family lived in Kief, ND. Charles moved to the Life Skills Center in Grafton in April 1958 at the age of six. He spent the rest of his life there. The family remembers Charles as loving tractors as a child and that he spent hours pretending to cut grass and that he wasn't very fond of dogs. He was able to communicate using some basic signing.  His job at the Life Skills Center for many years involved pushing the laundry carts to and from the laundry and living areas.  Caregivers at the Life Skills Center commented on how he enjoyed going on van rides to go shopping or dine out. He loved drinking pop!  When the weather was nice he enjoyed being outside on his swing set watching the large trucks and farm equipment pass by on the nearby roads. He loved watching sporting events and favored the Denver Broncos.  He had several John Deere toy tractors in his bedroom along with pictures of himself, caregivers and family. Charles is survived by three sisters, Karon Goldade of Fargo, Marlyn Bruner of Lynden, WA and Lavon Ostby of Ridgecrest, CA. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Loraine Geiger and Linda Krum.  Share online at www.hertzfuneralhomes.com
