Caroline Littlefield, 47, Harvey, ND died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at Faith Lutheran Church which meets at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Harvey, ND.
Visitation will be Monday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.
There will be a public prayer service at 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday May 27 at Rosehill Cemetery, Minot, ND.
Caroline was born on October 4, 1966 at Minot, ND. She was the daughter of Carl and Violet (Gotter) Yineman. She grew up in New Town and graduated from the New Town High School in 1984. Caroline attended college at the University of Minnesota for two years and then transferred to North Dakota State University in Fargo where she received her biology degree.
While attending University of Minnesota, Caroline was involved with research and trap and transplant operations of Canada Geese in Minneapolis and the St. Paul area. She had a broad interest and knowledge of Canada Geese. In 1988, Caroline started working at the Upper Souris Wildlife Refuge in North Dakota. In 1989 she went to work for US Bureau of Reclamation in Bismarck. In 1991 she began her career with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department near Harvey. Caroline resigned due to health reasons in 2011.
Caroline married Randy Littlefield on August 15, 1992 at New Town, North Dakota.
While working with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, Caroline worked half of her career as a Wildlife Technician on the Lonetree Wildlife Management Area southwest of Harvey. She finished her career as a Private Lands Biologist. She spent nearly ten years working with private land owners on the PLOTS program in central North Dakota. Caroline loved her children deeply and was very proud of what they accomplished in her time here. She was also family oriented and was in contact with other family members and loved her entire family. Caroline loved the outdoors and had a special fondness for animals. She would relentlessly bring home sick or injured animals and try to make them better. She also had a caring heart for people and would do everything she could to help someone in need. As a young child she enjoyed fishing and hunting with her grandparents, aunts and uncles and other extended family.
Caroline was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and Wells Eagles Auxiliary both of Harvey.
Caroline is survived by her husband, Randy of Harvey; son, Landon, two daughters, Mariah and Erica all at home; mother, Violet Yineman of New Town; father, Carl (Sandy Church) Yineman of Miles City, Montana; brother, John (Missy Smith) Yineman of Dubuque, Iowa; sisters, Julie (Jeff) Gronos of Watford City, ND, Cathy (Mike Williams) Yineman of Dickinson. Caroline is survived by nieces, Olivia and Chloe Gronos, Taylor Yineman, Jennifer Neset, Teri Ostdahl, and nephews, Jaron, Caden Haugen and Brandon Yineman.
Caroline was preceded in death by her Paternal Grandparents George and Lily Yineman and Maternal Grandparents Herbert and Verna Gotter.
