Carol "Kitty" Salerno, 77, Harvey, ND died Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey on Saturday December 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Country Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Carol was born on June 25, 1942 in Harvey.  She was the daughter of Edward and Elsie (Schlenker) Baier.  Carol grew up on the family farm south of Harvey.  Carol graduated from the Sheyenne River Academy of Harvey.  She attended college in Lincoln, Nebraska. After college she moved to Bismarck where she became Ms. Bismarck and then Ms. Congeniality.

In 1965 she moved to California where she met her husband Mike.   Years later they moved to Phoenix.  She worked for the Reynolds Aluminum company until retiring.  Carol enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hiking, horseback riding, taking care of her pets, and loved to spend time with her friends and family.  In 2018 Carol returned back to Harvey after her husband Mike's passing.

Carol is survived by her aunt, Evangeline Faul of Lodi, CA; nieces, Cindy Martin and Dee Dee Knudtson; nephews, Brian, Mike, and Bruce Baier; step-children, Tammy and Michael Jr. Salerno.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael; twin brothers, Lloyd and Floyd Baier; sisters-in-law, Karen and Kristy Baier.  Memorial are preferred to the Manfred Seventh-day Adventist Church.
