Leonard (Butch) Prom, 79, of Harvey, ND died Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the St. Aloisius Hospital, Harvey.  Funeral services will be held at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Harvey on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation will be on Sunday, June 25, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a rosary and prayer service following at 5 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Butch was born on September 12, 1943 in Harvey.  He was the son of Leonard Sr. and Alma (Engelhard) Prom.  Butch attended school at the St. Cecilia Catholic School through the 8th grade. He then attended Harvey High School and graduated in 1961.

Following high school he attended one semester of college at Minot State University.  He then returned to Harvey and farmed with his father.  He also worked at the Harvey Ring Sale.  Butch enjoyed farming, gardening, working with wood and working in his shop.  Butch was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters both of Harvey.

Butch is survived by his sister, Vonnie Heilman of Harvey; 25 nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Henry Zeroth; sister-in-law, Fran Prom.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Anna Mae and husband Ken Lamm, Annella and husband Del Schlenker, Lloyd Prom, Beverley and husband Leonard Vetter, Myra Zeroth, Art Prom; brother-in-law, Ed Heilman.
