Bruce Herbert (Herbie) Place, 71, passed away at his home in McClusky, ND on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Grace Lutheran Church in McClusky, ND will be kindly hosting the service, Saturday October 7th, 2023 at 11a.m, with a burial to follow at McClusky City Cemetery.  A visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.  For those that are unable to attend, the service will be live streamed on the Grace Lutheran Church of McClusky Facebook page.

Bruce was born on June 27, 1952 in Breckenridge, MN. He was the son of Herbert and Ramona (Miller) Place. Bruce grew up and graduated in Hankinson, ND. He loved to play football and hockey anytime he had the chance with his buddies in town. Upon graduation, he went on to work in construction in Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota.  On many of those job sites, is where he connected and made many of his lifelong friendships. After many years in construction, Bruce decided to make beautiful McClusky, ND his forever home, as well as owning the C-Store in town. Bruce enjoyed involving himself within the community, loved telling jokes and stopping in for a quick afternoon drink in town. He absolutely loved to hunt, fish and travel. He coached little league in Minnesota and loved watching hockey. Bruce was an avid sports enthusiast… as many know; his passion was to inform anyone and everyone on current sport teams stats or talk anything sports!

Bruce is survived by his sister Beth (George) Rickard Bismarck ND; son Brion (Melissa) Hartwig Jr.; grandson, Henry, granddaughters, Beatrice and Penelope; daughter EmmyLee (Phillip) Rozsi; grandsons Austin, Cory, Skye, Keagan, Braxton; 1 great grandson.  Bruce had 3 nephews and 3 nieces. Bruce touched many people throughout his beautiful life and will be missed by all.

Bruce was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Lund and parents Herbert O and Ramona Place.  Arrangements with Hertz Funeral Home of McClusky.
