Elizabeth "Betty" Kraft, 84 of Harvey, ND died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the St. Aloisius Hospital.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5 with a Prayer service at 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Betty was born on July 15, 1932 near Selz, ND. She was the daughter of Wendelin and Florentine (Dexheimer) Burgard. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural school.
Betty married Sebastian Kraft on September 25, 1951 in Selz, ND. They lived on farm north of Selz before moving to Minot and several other cities in the Midwest. They returned to Harvey in 1965. While living in Harvey, Betty was employed at Coast To Coast Hardware, Harvey Bakery and a certified nursing assistant at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home. She continued to provide home health care on a private basis during her retirement. Sebastian died on July 9, 2002.

Betty's hobbies were crocheting, gardening, tending to her flowers and going to the casino. In her younger years she played guitar and sang.

Betty was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, The Catholic Daughters, the Altar Society and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of West Fargo

Betty is survived by her son, Terry (Cherie) Kraft of Mandan, daughters, Eileen (Mike) Kelly, of Minot, LeAnn (Dan) Rall of Grand Forks, ND; 11 Grandchildren, Mikey (Krista) Kelly, Jordan (Erika) Kelly, Jersey Kelly, Jonathan (Elaine) Ray, Christopher Kraft, Anthony (Jessica) Kraft, Colin Bucker, Terrance Kraft, Bobby (Lexie) Reynolds, Savanah (Brent) Cantleberry, Lacey (Dylan) Grant; 15 great-grandchildren, Aven, Macklin, Maelyn, Avery, Madelyn, Kipton, Lynden, Sophie, Jayden, Derek, Cody, Kaitlyn, Mariah, Raya and Kyah; brothers, Leo Burgard and Richard Burgard, both of Minot; sisters, Eva Keller of Harvey, Rosella Pfeifer of Minot; daughter-in-law, Michaele Kraft of Burkburnett, TX.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Donald who died in 2011; granddaughter, Whitney Kelly who died in 1985; brothers, Stephen and Joseph; sisters, Helen Burgard, Mary Peters, Alice Schaan and Irene Burgard.

Betty died on Tuesday, August 30 at the St. Aloisius Hospital. May Betty's soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
