Obituary

Betty Holzer, 86 of Harvey, ND passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 after a short stay at Maple Manor Care in Langdon, ND.

Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Carrington Cemetery.

Betty Mae was born on August 12, 1930 on the family farm near Sykeston, ND in Wells County. She was raised there and attended the Hebron Consolidated Country School and the Carrington High School.

Betty married Bernard Walicski in 1948, they lived and farmed near Sykeston while raising three daughters, Nancy, Jayne and Shelly.

Betty married Joseph Holzer on November 3, 1978 and they made their home in Harvey.

Betty was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Harvey. She once belonged to the New Home Homemakers Club from the Woodworth area. She enjoyed sewing and other handcrafts in her younger years and traveling as she grew older. Her pride and joy were her flower beds surrounding her home in Harvey. She also loved pampering her dog, Schatze.

Betty is survived by her husband Joe of Harvey; three daughters, Nancy (Paul) Kram of Langdon, Jayne (Dwight) Petersen of Fargo, Shelly (Jeff) Highness of Dilworth, MN; six grandchildren, Bryan (Erin) Petersen of Moorhead, MN, Amy (Chris) Holstad of West Fargo, Shawn (Bridgette) Kram of Durham, NC, Matthew (Heather) Kram of Kansas City, KS, April Highness and Katie Highness both of Dilworth, MN; four great-grandchildren, Jack and Grace Petersen, Lauren Holstad, and Stetson Kram; sisters, Ruth Johnson of Rochester, MN Mary Halvorson of Alexandria, MN; brother, Kenneth Watson, Carrington, ND; sisters-in-law, Betty Jane Watson and MaryAnn Watson both of Carrington; numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents,James and Marie Watson ; sisters, Dorothy Folkert, Alice Schwabe; brothers, James Watson, Charles Watson and sister-in-law, Freida Watson.
