Berdette "Bert" Reiswig, 88, rural Harvey died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 on his farm.

Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 16 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Harvey, ND.

Visitation: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Burial Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Bert was born on December 20, 1929 near Harvey, ND.  He was the oldest child of Albert and Lenore (Keson) Reiswig.  Bert graduated from the Sheyenne River Academy in Harvey in 1948.  While attending the Academy he met his future wife Ardella "Del" Kostenko.  They were married on August 28, 1948 in Harvey.  Bert and Del purchased their family farm in 1960 and lived there raising crops, livestock and their family.  Bert was passionate about animals and was a well known horseman among his peers.  He was recognized for raising Thoroughbreds and was a past President of the North Dakota Thoroughbred Association.  He was a ND brand inspector and held various township positions.

Bert is survived by his daughter, Renaye (Al) Wartner of Mesa, AZ; son Kent (DeNae) Reiswig of Cannon Falls, MN; grandson, Chris (Sarah) of Hudson, WI; granddaughter Tara (Andy) Darst of Cottage Grove, MN; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Don (Sharon) of Yuma, AZ, Curtis of Mesa, AZ; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Susan Smestad of Harvey.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Del on November 1, 2012 and a brother, Ira.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Sheyenne Saddle Club of Harvey.
