Benjamin "Ben" Lemer, 95 of Minot formerly of Harvey, ND, died Tuesday March 26, 2019 at the Trinity Homes in Minot.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Benjamin "Ben" Lemer was born on May 6, 1923 on a farm north of Drake, ND.  He was the son of Louis and Therisa (Martel) Lemer.  He attended the Lake George Township School.  As a young man he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps for several years.  Ben and Rita Louise Bruner were married on June 18, 1946 in Anamoose.  They lived on and rented several farms before buying one near Kief.  In 1968 they purchased the Amigo Motel in Harvey.  Ben worked for Lund Construction building schools in Harvey, Drake, Crosby and a community center in Fort Totten.  He was a custodian at the Harvey High School from 1973 until retiring in 1988.  He continued helping with the operations at the Amigo Motel until they sold it in 1998.

Ben was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the Wells Eagles Aerie in Harvey.  He also was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Harvey Council # 5217.  Ben played the clarinet and saxophone and was a member in several area bands.

Those sharing in Ben's life were, his wife Rita of 72 years; two sons,  Robin of Chicago, Illinois, Lowell Lemer of Lincoln, ND; six grandchildren, Jason and Brent Vivian, Cherie and Amy Lemer, Taylor and Dylan Lemer; five great-grandchildren, Brennan, Logan, Lennon, Aralyn and Langston; one sister, Josephine Miller, Drake.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Benita Vivian; son, Ryan Lemer; two brothers, John and Henry Lemer; three half brothers, Joe, Johnny and Aloys Kramer; sisters, Katie Kuntz, Ann Kuntz and Phyllis Cooley.
