Barbara Martin, 82, of Harvey formerly of Anamoose died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Anamoose.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the St. Francis Catholic Church.  Prayer services will be on Friday at the church at 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Barbara was born on December 25, 1939 near Selz.  She was the daughter of Joseph and Magdalena (Vetter) Goldade.  Barbara married Tony Martin on September 7, 1959 in Harvey.  They lived on the Martin family farm north of Anamoose.  Barbara worked at the St. Aloisius Hospital in the laundry and dietary departments for over 20 years and the Wells Eagles Arie 3080 both of Harvey.  Later Barbara worked at the Drake Anamoose Public School as a grandmother.  Barbara and Tony moved to Anamoose in 2007.  Tony passed away on August 8, 2010.  Barbara moved into the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in July of 2021.   Barbara loved to cook and host large family gatherings.  She baked the best bread and buns around and would even share them with friends, family and neighbors.  She was an avid pinochle player along with many other card games!  She really enjoyed gathering around a table to play cards with family and friends!!  She hosted many card games get togethers while living alone in Anamoose.  Over the years she was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Ladies Auxiliary, Wine Club, Happy Feet, Weigh-in Group, and Homemakers. Her big hugs, jokes, stories and deep love for family and friends will greatly be missed.  We are sad to have lost such an amazing woman.  But rest assured Tony, the absolute love of her life, was waiting with his arms wide to greet her with one of those big hugs and she is now forever at peace.

Barbara is survived by sons, Lyedell  (Kristi) of Anamoose, Bob (Cindy) of Martin, Darcy (Tonya Kassian) of Eagan, MN, Dean (Jacqueline) of Anamoose, Tracy (Maureen) of Warwick, Tory (Lori) of Anamoose, Darwin (fiancé Eric Sonnier) of Bismarck, Tony (Barbie) of Anamoose;  grandchildren; Eric Martin, Brandon Martin, Christopher Martin, Nicole Kalvoda, Chardonnay Ternes, Craig Martin, Nathan Martin, Tristin Martin, Samantha Hoffmann, Shania Martin, Rylee Martin; step-grandchildren; Shane Marquart, Derrick Marquart, Chad Marquart, Michelle Martin, Joshua Hest, Tyler Hest, Dustin Sherlock, Misty Sherlock, Karlie Filler, Cassie Filler. several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Vincent of Grand Forks, Larry of Grandin; sister, Marie Heil of Harvey.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Tony; brothers, Jackie, William, James, Rochus, Daniel, Peter, Raymond, and Joseph; sisters, Lena Farstad and Katherine Kline.
