Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with prayer services at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Selz, ND.
Barbara was born on November 23, 1926 on the family farm northwest of Selz, ND to August and Eva (Vetter) Lesmeister. She moved with her family to Halliday, ND. Barbara was the Halliday High School Class of 1944 Valedictorian. She attended Minot State College and taught in rural schools northwest of Selz.
Barbara married Pius Keller on June 3, 1947 in Selz. They lived north of Wellsburg, ND for 17 years before moving into Harvey in 1964. Barbara was the front desk clerk at the Cooke Hotel for several years. She was also the office manager at her husband's Mobil Gas Station in Harvey. They retired in 1989 and moved to Velva in 2007. Pius died on August 24, 2007.
Barbara was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Harvey and attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Velva. She was a former member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Selz, St. Aloisius Hospital Auxiliary and the Selz Patient Homemakers. Her hobbies included crocheting, embroidering, fishing and reading. Pius and Barbara enjoyed many summers at their Cottonwood Lake Home near Butte, ND. She had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. Hats were a special accessory item for her and she had one for every season and occasion.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Brenda Keller of Park Rapids, MN; two sons, Randy Keller of Fargo, ND, Blane (Donna) Keller of Velva; three grandchildren, Ross Keller, Amanda Keller and Brandon Keller; four great-grandchildren, Kassidee Keller, McKenzie Keller, Halle Keller and Derrick Casey.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband and a sister, Rose C. Hoffart.
