Aurelia Mae Massart Case was born to Ferdinand Joseph and Ella Marie (Cash) Massart on May 19, 1920 in the town of Merrill, Wisconsin. Her Family moved to the city of Merrill when she was an infant. Aurelia attended Catholic grade school and Merrill Public High School. She was one of the first graduates of Holy Cross High School at Merrill in 1939. In the years after graduating from high school she worked for Merrill Manufacturing and Weinbrenner Shoes. Aurelia married Fayette B. Case at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill on May 5, 1945. They initially made their home in Brokaw, WI and later moved to Merrill. In 1959 the family moved to Mohall, ND and to Harvey, ND in 1962. While living in Mohall she was an active member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church, and she taught Religious Education there. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Harvey for the past 48 years. She was also a member of the Altar Society and was a charter member of Sacred Heart Court 1908 of the Catholic Daughters of America. Although she was primarily a stay-at-home mom, Aurelia worked part time in sales for Mason Shoes, Fuller Brush and Avon during her younger years. She also did domestic work for many prominent families in Harvey for many years. Being an avid reader, she was well known at the Harvey Public Library having read virtually every Louis L'Amour novel. She was very well known as a seamstress for the large number of beautiful baby quilts and doll clothing she sewed over the years that are still enjoyed by many people today. In addition to that her skill of making bridesmaid's dresses and clothing was widely recognized in the 1960's and '70's. Aurelia was first and foremost a child of God and a Christian woman. Her day always began with prayer and ended with prayer. She considered her family a blessing; to her every member of her family was a gift from God, and she truly loved every one of us. She especially enjoyed her grand children and great-grand children. They loved her very much and they will miss her a lot. She also had a lot of friends whom she valued greatly. Aurelia is survived by sons Theodore of Merrill, Jeffrey of Minot, ND and daughter Elizabeth of Bismarck, ND; Grandsons Paul and his daughters Samantha and Briana of Bismarck; Sean and his son Dylan and daughter Melia and granddaughter Amy Washington, and her husband Diego and their children Justin, Mikayla, Dante and Kaelani all of Anchorage, AK.; brother-in-laws John (Gladys) Case of Merrill, and Joseph (Doris) Case of Tomahawk, sister-in-law Elaine Massart, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons John and Thomas, and daughter Kathryn; brothers Leonard, Austin, Joseph, Francis, Ambrose, Fritz, John, James and John Andrew; sisters Mary Christiansen, Florence Saeger, Lucilla, Ellen Rose Custer, and Clara. A native of Wisconsin, she was also a proud Green Bay Packer fan.
