Obituary

Arthur Waltz, 90 of rural McClusky died on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, ND.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26 at Grace Lutheran Church, McClusky, ND.  Burial will be in Lincolndale Cemetery, rural Denhoff, ND.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky, ND.

Arthur "Art" was born on May 20, 1929 on the family farm in Lincoln Valley northeast of McClusky, ND. He was the son of John Sr. and Josephine (Werfel) Waltz.  He attended the Grandville Township country school in Sheridan County.  Art served in the Army from 1951 to 1953.  After his discharge he returned to the family farm.  He farmed and ranched with family members until recently.

Art was baptized and confirmed at the St. Andrew Lutheran Church which was located in Lincoln Valley and later closed.  He was a current member of Grace Lutheran Church.  He was a life member of the McClusky Rural Fire Department.  He was a member James Roberts American Legion Post # 124 in McClusky and served on the Color Guard for many years.  He also made all of the veteran's crosses in the McClusky City Cemetery.

Art is survived by his brother Paul, Harvey, ND; sister, Marie Kalin of Minneapolis; 16 nephews; 10 nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Jr., William, Jack, Henry and Fred; sisters, Emma Bonnet, Hilda Freeman, Helen Sprenger, Frieda Waltz, Alvina Waltz and Josephine Yoch.
