Obituary

Anton "Tony" W. Martin, 70, Anamoose, died Sunday, August 08, 2010 at a Minot Hospital. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Anamoose. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Prayer services will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Anamoose, ND. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Anton W. Martin was born on September 3, 1939 at Harvey, North Dakota. He was the son of Emanuel and Theresa (Duchscherer) Martin. Tony grew up near Anamoose and attended elementary school at Lake View School #1 and also attended Anamoose High School. As a young man he helped on the family farm north of Anamoose. Tony married Barbara Goldade on September 7, 1959 in Harvey, ND. He took over the family farm and also worked at the Vets Club, Eagles Club, Agrilliance Inc., Harvey Farmers Elevator and Ralph's Super Value all in Harvey. Tony served as president of the Knights of Columbus in Orrin, ND and was a member of the Anamoose Public School board for several years. Tony was currently a member of the Knights of Columbus of Drake and Wells Eagles Aerie #3080 of Harvey. Tony enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Tony also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pinochle, watching football and basketball. Tony is survived by his wife, Barbara of Anamoose, sons and daughters-in-law, Lyedell of Anamoose, Bob (Cindy) of Martin, Darcy (Darcy) of Rugby, Dean (Jacqueline) of Anamoose, Tracy (Maureen) Hatton, ND, Tory (Lori) Lincoln, ND, Darwin of Bismarck, Tony (Barbie) Anamoose; grandchildren, Eric Martin, Brandon Martin, Christopher (Alisha) Martin, Nicole Martin, Chardonnay Ternes, Craig Martin, Nathan Martin, Tristin Martin, Samantha Martin, Shania Martin, Ryllee Martin; step-grandchildren, Shane (Patty) Marquart, Derrick (special friend Holly) Marquart, Chad (Anna) Marquart, Michelle (Chad) Martin, Joshua (Melissa) Hest, Tyler Hest, Dustin Sherlock, Misty (Chad Wrightson) Sherlock; and many step-great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (James) Loehrke, Mandan, ND; brothers, Joseph Martin and Leonard Martin of Marysville, WA; Tony was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Loretta Moser.
