Anton (Tony) A. Volk, 91, Bismarck formerly of Selz, ND died on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Gabriel's Community in Bismarck, ND.

Funeral services will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.   Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday March 27, 2026, at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND with prayer services following on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the church cemetery at a later date.

Anton (Tony) August Volk was born on September 5, 1934, near Selz, ND.  He was the son of Peter and Helen (Schmaltz) Volk.

He married Marcella (Sally) Katherine Wentz on November 19, 1956, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond. Together they lived and worked on the Volk family farm near Selz and raised five children.  Tony enjoyed fishing, camping, and bowling.  He especially enjoyed visiting with family and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  After retirement Tony and Sally enjoyed traveling with their RV friends.  This RV life later led to spending 20 winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. In 2016 Tony and Sally moved to Mandan, ND. In 2017 they moved to St. Gabriel's Community, Bismarck ND. Sally passed away on November 18, 2022.  Tony had a very strong Catholic Faith and prayed the rosary at least once a day, every day, since he was 17 years old.  Tony was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Selz and the Wells Eagles Aerie #3080 in Harvey.

Tony is survived by one son and four daughters; Julie (Ron) Bartsch of Bismarck, ND, Donna (Du-Wayne) Weigel of Bismarck, ND,  Cheryl (Cary) Goldade of Bismarck, ND,  Rick (Margaret) Volk of Buffalo, MN, and Cyndy (Scott) Sondrol of Wilton, ND;  13 grandchildren, Amanda Bartsch, Brandon (Karmen) Bartsch, Chad (Randi) Leintz, Cara (Nate Schneider) Leintz, Jonica (Ryan Gino) Weigel, Alex (Brittany) Weigel, Crystal (Tyson) Schneider, Cassandra (Josh) Leier, Erik (Colleen) Volk, Alex (Anna) Volk, Kirstin (Jeremiah) Bray, Landre Sondrol and Kendal Sondrol;   great grandchildren, Eleanor Bartsch, Wesley Leintz, Mason and Ayva Weigel, Bailey and Brooks Leintz, Ryker, Kylon, and Addie Samuelson, Brekken, Bryar, Briggs, and Bruin Schneider, Brax Leier, Elias, Lucia, Gabriel Volk, and Oliver, Eliza Bray; sister, Helen Volk of Harvey.

Tony was predeceased by his parents; wife, Sally; grandsons, Chrys Leintz and Scott Weigel; siblings, Leonard Volk, Mary Hager, Daniel Volk; Leo Volk.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Gabriel's Community for the kindness, compassion, and genuine friendship they showed to their father.  Their care brought him comfort and dignity.  We also wish to thank Dr. Grace and his staff for their attentive and compassionate medical care, which helped ease our father's pain.
